Listen to Podcasts

Listening to podcasts is a great way to get a lot of information in a short amount of time, all while being able to multi-task at the same time. I love popping on an episode of Jenna Kutcher's "Goal Digger" podcast while editing or driving to a photo shoot. Take the time to find some podcasts that really resonate with you and keep you motivated.

Follow Influential Instagramers

One way to stay inspired is to follow professional photographers that you admire. If you're going to be mindlessly scrolling on the app, you may as well get some gain out of it with small reminders of where you want to be! Just be mindful of the comparison monster.

Some of my favourite professional photographers to follow are @mrslindseyroman , @moniqueserraphotography and @thehearnes

Watch Creative Live Courses

Creative Live is another great source for endless amounts of information and they have a ton of fantastic photographers that teach everything from editing, posing to the best ways to set up your business. They have both free courses at certain times as well as classes you can buy and keep forever.

Read, Read, Read

It may be old school, but continuously reading photography books or any creative book is a great way to stay excited about your work. I always try to have at least one self-improvement book on the go and can truly see the difference it has made. You can check out our list of books here.

Facebook is full of photography groups of all kinds about all aspects of photography and genres. Take a little look around to find the ones that fit you the most and get involved! This can be a helpful way to get advice and constructive criticism on your images.

Take Part in the 365 Project

Daily photography challenges or competitions can help keep you accountable and shooting every day. There are plenty around to take part in if you take a look around on both Instagram or Pinterest.

Try to get Publicized

Getting your work publicized in magazines or even shared on websites can be a fantastic way to keep you motivated and shooting your best work. For a list of places to submit your work check out this article.

Set Up Coffee Dates

Get to know other photographers or creatives in your area by reaching out and asking them to meet up over coffee. This is a fab way to create a support system, get a sense of community and bounce ideas off of each other. Networking is always a great idea and you never know where it will lead you.

Sign up for College Courses

Community colleges will often have photography classes you can take either part or full time. This is an easy way to meet new people, gain valuable knowledge and make important connections.

Try New Things

Getting out of your comfort zone is the best way to grow as a creative. Don't be afraid to experiment, try new things and shoot genres you normally wouldn't go for.
