1. Get Brainstorming

Perhaps one of the hardest aspects of writing blog posts is thinking of what to write about! So how can you begin to brainstorm for ideas?

Ask Followers What They Want to Know

Ask followers what they want to know on your social media. The easiest way to do this is through Instagram through the questions feature in your stories.

What Were Things You Once Wondered About?

Think about things that you once were desperate to learn and wanted more information on that you can now reflect on and teach.

What Have You Been Focusing On Lately?

What is something you have been focusing on most in your life or business that you can share about?

What Inspires You?

Who or what inspires you the most?

What Is a Trending Topic?

Think about trending topics that you can elaborate on or explore.

Visit Pinterest for Inspiration

When all else fails have a look through Pinterest to see if anything jumps out at you.

2. Write a Rough Draft

Now that you have an idea of what to write about it's time to start your rough draft. Get all of your thoughts down and don't over think it - there's time for perfecting your post later.

3. Headings and Quotes

Once you have a rough draft of your blog post you can start to add structure by adding in your titles, headings, bullet points or start to pull out quotes to highlight.

4. Chose and Insert Photos

It's time to start choosing your photos and deciding where they will fit best in your post. We suggest taking your own photos, or if you're not confident in your photos you can search for free images on Pixabay. You can also opt to embed your images from Instagram or Pinterest.

5. Insert Alt Tags, SEO and Links

It's important to add appropriate alt tags into your images, focus on SEO, keywords, as well as to add links into your post so you can be found.

6. Add a Pinterest Graphic

We recommend creating a graphic for your blog post, so that you can share it on Pinterest for more viewers as well as embed it into your post so that other readers can pin it to their boards.

7. Call to Action

Think about adding a call to action to your blog post whether it's to share your content, find you on social media or visit somewhere else on your site etc.

Now it's time to share your blog post with others and let your hard work be appreciated! Share your blog post on your various social media outlets as well as consider starting a newsletter to reach even more readers.
