What You'll Need:
- Clear Plastic Craft Baubles
- Glitter or Confetti
- String or Ribbon for Hanging
- Printed Photo
I found all of the supplies I needed from Clarkes of Sussex, but I am sure you can find the baubles at Hobby Craft and other craft stores too.
I started off by choosing a printed photo from our recent trip to Romania - I had this photo printed off at the Boots instant kiosk, but you can also just use images printed from your computer. Place half of the plastic bauble over the photo and trace. Be careful using a permanent marker, as it will get on the bauble, which is a mistake I made. Try using a pencil or pen instead.
Next, you need to cut out your image. You will need to cut slightly into the circle, to make it smaller than what you traced in order for it to fit into the bauble.
Next, place your image into the bauble - it should just fit so that it doesn't collapse or get squashed into the back. Fill the bauble with confetti or glitter to give it that extra magical feel.
Next, simply close the bauble together, cut some string and make a loop through the top tab so that you are able to hang it on the tree. Voila! You've got a brilliant homemade Christmas ornament that will make a perfect gift.
You can also try experimenting with different glitters, different sized photos for a "floating" effect or even by glueing images to the back of the bauble for a domed look. Experiment to see what you like best. I like the look of the confetti instead of the glitter, but it's totally up to you.
We hope you have fun making these personalised baubles - they are sure to put a smile on someone's face! We would love to see your results so make sure you share with us on Instagram, Facebook or Pinterest . Happy Crafting! xx
